IRREGULAR

PRE-FALL 2015/ SINGAPORE

Inspired by sub-glacial volcanoes which are also known as glaciovolcano - a volcanic form produced by sub-glacial eruptions beneath the surface of ice sheets which is then melted into the lake by the rising lava, Irregular mimics nature’s manufacturing and untamed stratifications.

Likened to the rare sub-glacial volcanoes, the shapes also tend to be unusual and full of characteristics, revoking a sense of capturing something that has never been seen before. In this collection, will find synthetic materials that emulate nature such as digitally printed fabrics of raw charcoal-like texture, synthetic leather mimicking the natural markings of scales, brushed off-white mohair for warmth and tactility. Dimensional and tactile to the touch, embellishments with bugle beads are layered on materials like sheer organza to created crystal-encrusted effects.

While the mainly black and white colour palette is accented by textured fabrics and a graphic print, a dark forest green is also introduced to further push the colour scheme. Somewhere amongst the chaos and order, all the elements merge and burst into life, as if reminding us that nature is truly uncontrolled.
